It is with broken hearts, the family of Janet Anderson wish to announce her passing on March 17, 2025

Born in Blind River, Ontario, Janet was known for her kindness, hard work, and creativity. She dedicated much of her career to Hallmark Canada, servicing stores throughout Thunder Bay and the surrounding district. Later in life, she took great pride in running The Calendar Club, where her dedication and passion for her work continued to shine.

Beyond her professional life, during Amanda's childhood, Janet had a deep love for volunteering with the Thunder Bay Figure Skating Club. Among her most cherished accomplishments was directing two ice shows—an experience that combined her love of the sport with her creative spirit. She also found joy in crafting and DIY projects; decorating her home, making memory videos for loved ones, and decorating cakes to name a few. Family gatherings were made even more special by her enthusiasm for trying new appetizers and desserts, always bringing something delicious to share.

Janet is lovingly remembered by her daughter, her world, Amanda, and son in law, Ross, whom she adored; siblings Judith (Gerry), Billy (Gisele), Carol (Charlie), and Jill (Jeff); as well as many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind dear friends Jackie and Sandra. She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Jacqueline; siblings Brian and Sharon; and close friend Brad.

Her family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Rehab team at St. Joseph’s for their support over the past 2.5 months. Special thanks also go to the compassionate staff on the third floor at Pioneer Ridge for their care during Janet’s final days.

A funeral service will be held on Monday March 24, 2025, at Everest Westfort Chapel, located at 420 Gore Street West in Thunder Bay, Ontario. The service will begin at 11:00 AM.

Janet’s warmth and generosity touched many lives, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
