It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected, yet peaceful passing of Mrs. Janina Job on September 20, 2023, at the age of 79; she was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Janina was born to Rozalia and Piotr Stachowski in Sosnowiec, Poland, on June 11, 1944. Janina met and married her sweetheart, Włodzimierz, on June 17, 1962, and together they immigrated to Canada to begin a new life in 1985. Upon arriving in Canada, Janina began working in the hospitality and retail industries. Once she retired, Janina’s love of nature, gardening, and the outdoors intensified; she spent many days among family telling jokes and laughing around a bonfire. She also enjoyed travelling aboard, especially to visit family and friends in Poland. Her warm smile and infectious laugh will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Janina lived her life with determination, a strong will, and passion. On her own time, she enjoyed listening to classical music, reading, and solving crossword puzzles. Her legacy will live on through her family and friends, who will continue to cherish the memories they shared with her. She will always be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Janina is survived by her husband of 61 years, Włodzimierz; her sons, Marek (Grazyna) and Piotr; grandchildren, Agnieszka (Connor) and Piotr (Jessica); her close family Stanisław and Carlos; her five sisters in Poland, Stanisława, Jadwiga, Wanda, Halina, Danuta, and countless other relatives and friends.
The family would like to express their gratitude to all the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Hamilton General Hospital, Toronto General Hospital, St. Joseph’s Care Group, and the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre for their care and support during this difficult time.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre presided by Fr. Piotr Dudek at 11:00 a.m. Visitation for family and friends will begin one hour prior. For those unable to attend in person, the service will be streamed live and then archived at www.harbourviewfuneral.ca where condolences may be offered as well.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Janina may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or the Canadian Cancer Society.
