Jean Langen

Ms. Jean Langen, “Nanny” age 102 years, passed away peacefully at home in Thunder Bay on January 22, 2021 with family at her side.

Jean was born on December 25, 1918 in Pinewood, Ontario. Most of her life was spent in Thunder Bay and her later years in British Columbia where 3 of her 4 children reside. Her request to spend “one more Christmas” at home in Thunder Bay was granted and her 102nd birthday was celebrated here with her family.

Mom was a crafter who loved to crochet and cross stitch and family and friends have been the lucky recipients of all her creations. Her love of baking and feeding family and friends will always be remembered with her “nanny buns”, apple pie, cinnamon buns and perogies.

Mom will be sadly missed by all and especially her son Ray Desserre (Fran); daughters Sylvia McInnes (Greg), Elaine Dudar (Dave), Elona Namor; 7 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date.

A mother is the only person on earth who can divide her love among all her family and each one still has all her love.

You left us peaceful memories. Your love is still our guide. Though we cannot see you, you are always at our side.
