Jillian Leah (Leigh) Wallis, age 41 years, of Thunder Bay Ontario, passed away peacefully with family by her side at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre on September 1st, 2024.

Born on January 24th, 1983, she spent the first ten years of her life in Thunder Bay. After moving to Vancouver, she attended high school at New Westminster Secondary School. Upon returning to Thunder Bay, she worked as an accounting clerk with Russell Foods and most recently at Equipment World.

A lover of vintage, Jill had an extensive collection of items for her virtual vintage retail store. She had a large collection of old family photos and memorabilia tucked away along with these items. She expressed her artistic and creative side at paint nights, by putting together a custom bejewelled outfit to see Elton John in concert and by designing custom makeup for special occasions and holidays. Jill was a lover of classic Jim Henson movies like The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth and of course anything Bowie. A world traveller, Jill was fearless and went on many adventures. Her favourite being Thailand. She was there for her friends, a true ride or die friend for those closest to her. Jill had a vibrant and complex personality. Words cannot capture the true essence of her.

She is survived by her son Bodhi, mother Diane, aunts Deborah and Donna (Tom), aunties Sherri and Vicky, uncles Glenn, Tim, and Walter, cousins Jarrett, Olivia, Nicole, Skye, Tanner and Tim, and her dogs Tilla and Twogo. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents Walter and Helen Wallis, her dear friend Bradley, her beloved dog Ludo, and most recently her little dog Hugo.

A private ceremony will take place in British Columbia at a later date. If desired, in lieu of flowers, please make donations to an animal charity in her name.

“Hold her to you. She is part of you… as we are all part of each other,”

The Dark Crystal
