John Woroniuk passed away silently at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Science Centre the morning of December 10, 2015.

Dad worked extremely hard throughout his life, to provide for his family.

As a young man he worked on the ships travelling the Great Lakes. He was employed by the CP Railroad for 33 years while maintaining a thriving bait business. He loved hunting, fishing and gardening until he was no longer able to do so. The joy of fishing was passed on to many of his children and grandchildren.

He also enjoyed playing the guitar, listening to country music, and cheering on his favourite football team, the Green Bay Packers. When he was able to purchase a video camera, he would record and archive every family occasion he could. Sometimes the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren would grimace and hide, as children do, but he would just keep recording. Now that collection will remain a family treasure forever.

It is unfortunate that Dad wasn’t able to enjoy his beautiful back yard, dig a garden, and enjoy much of the summer sun. We are sad for the things that could have, or should have been.

Dad has left behind his loving wife of 64 years, Frances Eleanor (nee Oke); children, Charlotte Wooler (John), George Woroniuk (Debbie), Marie Boesche (Dany), Catherine Markevich (John), Jeanette Babin (Rob), Donna Caddo (Terry), and Lynn Woroniuk; along with 14 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.

Rest peacefully Dad, and look down from Heaven to watch your favourite movie with us, “The Christmas Story”, which brought us all laughter and joy each Christmas for so many years.

Cremation has taken place for the late Mr. John Woroniuk and an interment is to be held at a later date.
