It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Jordan Morris on September 22, 2024 at the age of 33.

Jordan was born on July 14, 1991 in Thunder Bay and attended St. Martin and Churchill High School.  As a child he spent winters skiing at Candy Mountain and summers camping at Quetico and at the family camp on Eva Lake. He was most recently employed at the Valhalla Inn, a job he enjoyed where he was able to work with and meet many kind individuals.

Jordan was foremost a history buff who understood and enjoyed explaining the many world events he took an interest in. His favourite topics included European history, Winston Churchill and the world leaders Churchill encountered.  He also had a keen interest in languages. Jordan had a quirky sense of humour that we all enjoyed and will miss. He loved to be with his nephews and niece. Most importantly, Jordan was incredibly kind, gentle and empathetic. We were truly lucky to call him our son and brother.

Jordan is survived by his parents Gary and Karen Morris, his sisters Alisha (Rob) Hodder and Jessica (Jan) Szczygielski, nephews and niece Max and Chase Hodder and Sara and Sidney Szczygielski. Grandparents George (Maureen) Hanna and Lorne Paakanen.

Predeceased by grandparents Fred and Rosalie Morris and Elizabeth Paakanen.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, September 27 at 1:00 pm at the Valhalla Inn.

Sadly, Jordan struggled with mental health and addiction. He showed a lot of courage over the years confronting these challenges.

Donations in memory of Jordan can be made to the Underground Gym or the charity of your choice.
