It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our son Joseph (Joe) Anthony Pulice at TBRHSC on May 31, 2024 at the age of 39 with his loving family by his side. Joe was born on June 27, 1984 in Thunder Bay to Suzanne and Gary. He was very proud of his Westfort roots, he attended Crawford School, St. Anne’s School and Westgate High School. He played for Westfort Hockey, Westfort Little league and also soccer in his younger years. He worked in many jobs from cook in numerous restaurants, call centers, construction and also in the family business. His greatest accomplishment was his son Keagan.

All of the wonderful blessings that Joe had culinary talent, intelligence, humour, friends and most importantly family, these were sidelined by his struggle with mental health and addiction. This destroyed all the hope and promise for a bright future.

Joe had a great sense of humour and was always entertaining family and friends with his jokes and pranks. When he could he loved to workout at the gym, play basketball and hockey.

Joe will be deeply missed by his parents Suzanne and Gary, his son Keagan (his mom Courtney Hansen), siblings Adam (Kristy Redden), Brandy (Tom Woycheshin) and Aaron. Grandpa Len Losier, nieces Asha (Brenden Mononen), Mia Pulice, nephews Wylie Woycheshin, Nikko and Aaro Mononen. Aunts Gina Tonelli, Marlene Sinopoli, Lisa Rabski (Stan), Brenda Meronyk and Diana Losier. Uncles John Pulice (Helen) and Dwayne Losier (Alice Andreason), as well as numerous cousins, extended family and friends who will miss him.

Joe was predeceased by his grandparents Rocco and Margaret Pulice and Ethel Losier, Aunt Loretta Pulice, Aunt Judy Marchildon, Uncle Gary Tonelli and Uncle Frank Sinopoli.

Our heartfelt thanks to the paramedics Debbie, Brooke and Nolan and the staff in the ER who brought our son back so his family and friends could spend his final days surrounding him with love and laughter. To the staff on ICU Dr. Kovacs, Brent, Danielle, Robyn, Nancy, Joe, Charlie and those that also supported Joe and his family your care, compassion and empathy did not go unnoticed. You are truly angels and we will never forget how you made a heartrending situation a little more bearable.

For family and friends who came up to the hospital to support the family and say their good byes we are blessed to know you. We would also like to thank everyone for their love, prayers, kind words and food.

In lieu of flowers an Education Trust Fund for Joe’s son Keagan has been set up. Please contact Brandy at brandybrews@gmail.com to get further information.

A Celebration of Life will take place Monday, June 10, 2024 at the Da Vinci Centre (Michelangelo Room) from 1 pm to 5 pm. Memories of Joe will be shared at 2 pm.
