Joyce Elaine (Sampson) Olson - May 30, 1940 to Dec 21, 2023
Joyce passed peacefully at home after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Her love for her family, and friends that became like family, were her silver lining in everything that mattered. When she wasn’t busy taking care of others, she was busy painting, volunteering and keeping Jack on task. She lived 80 years in the Thunder Bay area moving to Alberta for the last 2.5 years.
She leaves behind: Her kids; Eric (Karen), Lorraine (Dom), Carl (Katie), Melanie. 9 Grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. In respect to mom’s silver lining values, she would say many have passed before her and many will pass beyond her but the most important are those that are here today. With that said we wont list all the pasts, but we will mention her husband of 62 years, Jack (John) Olson passed July 11, 2022, and her son Ron (Ronald) passed at age 21.
You can shed tears that she is gone, or you can smile because she has lived.
Celebration of life will be held March 16th, 2024 (time and place TBD). Details to follow.
