On September 8, 2024, we said goodbye to the most beautiful soul that was our mother, Haha, daughter, sister and friend.

Our mom lived life to the fullest. She knew what it meant to have fun, laugh, and she never lost her playful spirit.

Judy’s life was one full of laughter, discovery, and love that spanned over 67 years.

Judy was born on July 29, 1957 in Thunder Bay, ON. She attended Hillcrest High School and then went on to a career in finance with CitiFinancial (Fairstone).

In 1977 she married her husband Murray Hovey and together they shared 43 loving years.

Our mom devoted her life to her family, providing unconditional love and unwavering strength. She held so much pride for her grandchildren and spent every moment she could creating lifelong memories.

Judy was always on the move. She loved going for long walks and hikes- anywhere her feet would take her.

She enjoyed volunteering with Chaban Ukrainian Dance Group, Davinci Center, and many countless organizations.

Baking was a passion for our mom, she loved to bake for every occasion whether it was for a grandson visiting or our multi day Christmas baking tradition.

In the last few years she spent many loving hours gardening and solving jigsaw puzzles.

Judy became actively involved with St. Michael and All Angels Church, meeting many friends along the way.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Murray Hovey and father Melvin Miller.

Judy’s memory is lovingly carried on by her daughters Kristy McWhirter (Patrick, Eli, Isaac), and Jodie Hovey (Richie Sitarski, Jamison), mother Sylvia Miller, sisters Sharon Styles, Marsha Sharpe, Carol MacDonnell and families, brother-in-laws David and Allan Hovey and families, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

As we say goodbye to our mom Judy, we remember the many ways she has enriched the lives of those around her.

Her youthful and loving spirit will continue to inspire and guide us, just as the memories of her love will forever light up our hearts.

Funeral Service will be held at St. Michael and All Angels Church on Friday September 20, 2024 at 2 pm.

In lieu of flowers we encourage everyone to spend some time with a loved one and laugh together.
