It is with great sadness that the family of Karen Christine Biscardi announce her passing on December 19, 2023 at St. Joseph's Hospice with her family by her side. Karen fought a long and courageous battle with cancer, never giving up and always remaining positive with her infectious smile and personality.

Born January 30, 1962 she loved life and always brought people together, cooking and laughing. Her family and friends were very important to her and she always tried to include them in any celebrations she had.

Karen’s happy place was at camp with her family. She loved the outdoors, the lake and all of her camp friends. Karen played lots of sports and made many friends playing baseball, hockey, curling, golf and volunteering for various events. These are friendships she highly cherished. We would like to thank Karen’s dear friend Sonia Green for all her help and friendship throughout Karen’s journey.

Karen loved music and loved to be involved behind the scenes with various concerts and festivals. Karen loved to take care of the green room, pampering and keeping the musicians in line.

Karen was predeceased by her mother-in-law Faustina Biscardi, brother-in-law Marcel Nigro and sister-in-law Tracey Parker.

Karen is survived by her husband of 40 years Tony Biscardi, her sons Andrew (Candice) Biscardi and Daniel (Paige) Biscardi, her grandkids Serena and Bryson Biscardi, parents Andy and Eva Anderson, father-in-law Settimio Biscardi, her siblings Keith (Lynn) Anderson, Kelly Anderson, Kathy Kirby, sister-in-law Lina Nigro, brother-in-law Lou Biscardi (Sharon), and Nieces and Nephews Jamie, David and Anthony Biscardi, Jolene, Kaelyn, Drew and Brett Anderson.

With much gratitude the family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the TBRHSC Northern Cancer Centre for their exceptional care and compassion as well the doctors and nurses at St. Joseph’s Hospice.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at St. Agnes R.C Church with Rev. Luigi Filippini. Visitation for family and friends will be one hour prior to the service. As expressions of sympathy, contributions to St. Joseph’s Hospice in memory of Karen would be appreciated. Flowers are also gratefully accepted.
