Mrs. Katharine Scali passed away peacefully at Roseview Manor on Sunday, December 20, 2015.
Katharine was born July 23, 1938 in Fort William. She graduated from Fort William Collegiate and St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing graduating in 1958.
She traveled to Europe and U.S.A. and worked in Baltimore at John Hopkins Hospital, the Toronto Sunnybrook Hospital and Public Health here in Thunder Bay.
Katharine married the love of her life Rocky Scali on October 11, 1984. She continued her work career at Pinewood Court until her retirement. She is survived by husband Rocky, brother, Arthur (Margaret) Hunter in Ottawa and two nephews Rob and Peter. Predeceased by her parents Arthur and Jenny Hunter.
Services will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2015, when family and friends will gather for Funeral Mass at 2:00pm, at St. Anthony’s Church celebrated by Rev. Luigi Fillipini. Private interment will take place at a later date. If friends desire, memorials to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or charity of choice would be appreciated .
Katharine Scali will be remembered in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove. Annual dedication service Sunday, June 12, 2016.
