Mrs. Katherine (Kay) Sebulski, age 78 years, resident of Roseview Manor and formerly of 2120 Nova Drive, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, March 5, 2011 in Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.
Katherine was born and raised in Murillo, Ontario with her younger brother Alexander (Sandy) Ellchook. It was on her way to the Calgary Stampede in 1952 that she met her future husband, Steve. After a one-month courtship, they married in October 1952 and after owning the Blue Haven Restaurant in Ignace, moved to Kakabeka Falls in 1962 and built, owned and operated the Telstar Motel for 20 years. Upon retirement in 1981, Katherine and Steve became world travellers and grandparents.
Katherine was predeceased by her husband Steve in 2000, father Michael and mother Martha.
She is survived by her son Kevin (Cheryl) and daughter Kelly; granddaughters Melissa and Kaitlyn; brother Sandy, sister-in-law Betty and their children Jeanne, Michael and Dennis. Numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
As per Katherine’s wishes, a small graveside ceremony will take place on Tuesday March 8, 2011 at 1:00 PM inSunsetMemorialGardens. If friends so desire, donations made in memory of Katherine to St. Joseph's Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
