Obituary Candle

Mrs. Kathryn “Bunny” Clapp, nee Marshall, passed away in the evening hours of Monday, September 2, 2024. Bunny fought a long and very brave battle against the cancer which finally overtook her body.

On April 14, 1954, a new Easter Bunny was born in Fort William to Alice “Betty” and Jim Marshall. Bunny lived most of her life locally. She attended Isabella Street School, Kingsway Park, and graduated from Selkirk High. As a young woman she worked in some of the long-gone famous local watering holes, where she met and fell in love with her husband, Jim. Bunny worked the next 40 years as a court reporter.

She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, and doing puzzles. Her sense of humour will long be remembered by family and friends. She carried this through right to the end of her life.

Left to mourn Bunny’s passing are her loving husband of almost 46 years, Hawley “Jim” Clapp; sister Margaret (Craig, Marshall and Mikayla) Sparks; nephew, Gary (Naoko, Hana, and Emi) Marshall.

Predeceased by her parents, Alice “Betty” and Jim Marshall; brother, Robert ”Bob” Marshall, and all of her aunts and uncles.

Cremation has taken place and as per Bunny’s wishes there will be no formal service.

Thank you to all the doctors and nurses throughout Bunny’s care process, especially Dr. Addison.
