Mr. Kenneth Robert Mehagan, age 67 years, a lifelong resident of Thunder Bay, passed away peacefully at the TBRHSC, on July 9, 2016 with family by his side.
Ken was born and raised in Current River, and was a dedicated husband and father, putting his needs far behind those of his family. He played guitar with family and friends early in life, developing a love for bluegrass music. Ken was a family man first, with camping and traveling in the motorhome being a priority. Ken enjoyed gardening and spoiling the many family cats over the years.
Ken will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 43 years Elda (Kakegumic), sons Shawn and Brent, and his cat Trouble/Tiger. He is survived by his siblings Don, Roy (Debra), Terry (Evy), Donna Chard (Doug), Colleen, Jerry (Mary Lee), Darlene Stewart (Duncan), Rita Lehtinen (Allan), Beverly Long (Dave), and Randy (Karen). He will be missed by his friends and countless nieces and nephews.
Ken was predeceased by his parents George and Lillian Mehagan, his brother Brian Mehagan,as well as step-siblings Yvonne and Raymond.
We are grateful to the TBRHSC, Curans Heart Clinic, and the Fort William Clinic for their exceptional care over the years.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 14, 2016 in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street, presided by Rev. Ed Long. Visitation for family and friends will begin one hour prior. Interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens will follow the reception. In lieu of flowers, donations to the local Kitty Kare would be appreciated.
