Laura tragically passed away Oct. 28th at TBRHSC in the ICU with her loving family by her side. We will miss her sparkling smile and her giant heart, but she will remain with us always.
She was born May 22, 1978 in Thunder Bay and lived here her entire life.
As a little girl she was bubbly, funny, always trying to make people laugh. She was intelligent, enrolling in the French Immersion program in the premier year. She graduated high school and went on to earn her Developmental Services Worker Diploma, Deans List from Loyola College. When working she was employed by Avenue II and the TBDCSB.
Many happy summers were spent at the camp in Graham with bonfires, s’mores, plays enacted by Laura, her sister Stephanie and her young cousins Jane, Paul and Charmaine. Performances included Polka Dot door, Cabbage Patch kids, and probably most memorable was the “Footloose” concert on the beach. She loved fishing and the peace of being on the lake, her prized trophy was a 15 pound pike.
When she was 16 she decided she would drive across Canada to British Columbia, by herself, for a big adventure and to find herself. So she did. And she made it home safely.
In 2009 Laura was blessed with the greatest gift of her life, her precious son Tyson. She loved Tyson with her whole heart. He was her life. Tyson grieves her untimely passing with his whole being.
Over the years she made many friends and the outpouring of condolences prove what a good friend she was.
Laura leaves to mourn, her son Tyson, parents Dominic and Sandra, sister Stephanie (Eryk) Przysucha, nephews Tad and Matteo, Aunts Kris and Ann Boon, Mary Pellegrino, Uncles Cosimo (Kathryn), Pavalo (Rosann) Pellegrino, Richard, Pat (Denise), Edward (Bonnie) Boon, Larry Smykalski. Tyson’s father Randy Jonasson, gramma Shelly and grandpa Mark and many cousins and second cousins also survive.
We thank the amazing staff of nurses and Doctors in the ICU. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
