Lawrence Arthur Ball a resident of Gorham, passed away peacefully in the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre on October 23, 2015 with family by his side.

Larry was born June 20, 1943 and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. In 1973 he moved to Thunder Bay with his wife Diane and two young boys, working at Great Lakes Forest Products for many years. He was a member of the Northern Ontario Classic Cruisers and took pleasure in showing his 1951 GMC pickup in Thunder Bay and surrounding areas. Larry enjoyed his yard work and was always working on projects around the home.

Larry will be missed by his special friend Cindy; sons Dave (Anita) and Jeff; grandchildren Maranda, Terry and Dale; siblings Kenneth Ball, James Ball, Theresa Wolfe (Dwight), Stephan Ball (Dru), Dorothy Blight (Kevin), Miriam Cavenaille (Roger) and Gordon Ball (Maria); along with numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends. Larry was predeceased by his wife Diane; infant granddaughter Danielle; parents Theresa Dorash and Horace Ball; siblings Thomas Ball and Arthur Ball; and sister-in-law Lori Ball.

Larry’s family would like to express a special thank you to the Doctors and Nurses at the Regional Health Sciences Centre and St. Joseph’s Hospital as well as the PSW’s and ParaMed Home Health Care for the support and attention they gave both to Larry and the family.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, November 6, 2015 in the Chapel of the Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street, presided by Rev. Msgr. P.M. Stilla, V.G. of St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to service time. Interment will take place in Lappe Cemetery with the service of committal presided by Pastor Neil Otke.

Should friends so desire, donations may be made in Larry’s memory to the George Jeffrey Children’s Foundation or a charity of your choice.
