It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Lenora Mae Pauluik, age 88 years, peacefully in her home with her daughter Debbie by her side, on Thursday, June 22, 2023. She was our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and the true anchor of our family.

Lenora was born on September 2, 1934 in Waldhof, Ontario to Mae and Edward Cech. She met Ernest Pauluik and they were married in 1952, starting a wonderful life together which included raising eight children. The family spent some years in Newfoundland and Port Credit, Ontario, before returning to the homestead in Rosslyn. Following retirement, Ernie and Lenora became interested in antiques, buying many and even opening a shop. They also enjoyed travelling in the RV to the southern United States for Antique Markets.

Lenora had a deep love for animals, especially her two cats and Debbie's three Shihtzus. She also loved her beautiful flowers and was always surrounded by them. Lenora was a big fan of the famous Daylin James, attending as many shows as she could to listen to him sing all of her favourite Elvis Songs. She was also a volunteer with the 55Plus Centre. Mom was a loving, kind and dedicated woman and will be deeply missed by all of her family and friends.

Lenora is survived by her children Cindy Pauluik, Debbie Rioux, Kerry (Cheryl) Pauluik, Martin (Joanne) Pauluik (Burlington, Ontario), Gordon (Linda) Pauluik, Joanne (Tom) Frederick (Springfield, Nova Scotia), Rebecca (Norm) Nadeau and Colin (Tammi) Pauluik (Cambridge, Minnesota). She is also survived by her brothers Andrew (Eleanor) Cech and Clifford (Lori) Cech, as well as her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was predeceased by her husband Ernie; her mother and father; sisters Madeline, Helen, Esther and brother Jimmy.

A special thank you to the home healthcare nurses for their compassion and care, as well as to Manor House for their weekly socialization group.

The family welcomes everyone to attend the Funeral Service in honour of Lenora on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 11:00am in Pinegrove United Church (Highway 130), officiated by Rev. Rob Smith. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Rosslyn Village Community Centre. A private interment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, should friends so desire, Lenora requested that friends donate in her memory to the Thunder Bay and District Humane Society.

Arrangements have been entrusted to SIMPLER TIMES CREMATION CENTRE, 575 Central Avenue, Thunder Bay.
