Louis was born in Paipoonge Township on his father's dairy farm (William's Dairy). He attended St. Peter’s Elementary School, St. Patrick’s Highschool and later trade school in Toronto. After his father and grandfathers passing, the processing portion was move to McLaughlin Street. Louis lived there with his mother, until he met the love of his life, Lily Ann Ross at roller skating and were married 3 years later.
Louis's father (John Morassutti) and mother (Irma Fogolin) were born in San Vito Al Tagliamento and Chions, Pordenone, Italy.
They had 3 children: 1. John Dean (Tina Maronese), 2 daughters, Sarah (Taylor Ahvenniemi), Leah (Brock Kasstan); 2. Lisa Ann (Greg Stein), 3 children, KaeDee (Mitch Halow), Aric & Alexandra (William & Stella), Nikki (Chemical Engineer, living in B.C.); 3. Cheryl (Brian Maki), 2 children, Cassandra & Ryan (Hunter, Lincoln, and Freyja), Kristian.
Louis worked at the CP Rail until he started working for Headway Builders. Later they offered him a job building cabinets and after a few years, he decided to start his own cabinet shop, then started building houses and commercial buildings.
He went to Mesa, Arizona for twenty years in the winter and did gardening in the summer. Due to arthritis pain he mostly stayed home the last three years. He went into Hogarth Unit two weeks ago. He succumbed to a flu outbreak and deteriorating health.
Funeral services for Louis will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024 at 11:00 am in the St. Dominic's Church, with Rev. Michael Mahoney officiating. Interment will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
