Malcolm (Binky) Grant McKillop, age 87 years, resident of Thunder Bay, passed away unexpectedly at TBRHSC on October 26, 2024.
Born on September 18, 1937 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, he was raised and educated in Thunder Bay and attended Crawford and Fort William Vocational School. He was employed as an Equipment Operator with the MTO retiring in 1991 after 37.5 years of service. Binky enjoyed hockey (Detroit Red Wings), camping, travelling, cooking and baking, family gatherings, having a good laugh, ham & turkey BINGOs, and fixing everything in sight, and was a member of Mario’s Bowl Men’s League and the Branch 6 Royal Canadian Legion.
Binky is survived by his spouse of 62 years, Joel McKillop, his daughter, Dawn McKillop (Rob Larsen), his grandchildren, Terri-Lynn, Steven, and Danial (Taylor), his great-grandchildren, Lily and Link, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, (special) friends the Simpson family, Danny (Sue) Majbroda, George (Melody) Swanson, and his buddy, Nacho.
Binky is predeceased by his parents Archibald and Mary McKillop, siblings Jim (Lora) McKillop, Hugh (Jean) McKillop, Allen (Doris) McKillop, nieces Sharon McKillop and Joanne McKillop, (special) friends William (Lynne) Kuzmych, Walter Wieckowski.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life for friends and family will be held at a later date. Interment will be held at a later date in Mountain View Cemetery. If so desired, in lieu of flowers, donations to the ASPCA would be greatly appreciated.
