Mrs. Marie McClelland (Chevrier) passed away peacefully, at the age of 97, on Monday July 10th, 2023. Born December 8th, 1925, in Hurkett, Ontario to Peter and Veronica (Boucher) Chevrier.

Gg, as she was known by all, had a full life spending her early years working on the lake boats and in the Bush camps as a Cook, where she met her first husband Leonard (Red) Mclaughlin.

They spent time as a family living in Saint Catherines, Montreal and finally settled back in Port Arthur with their beloved daughter Yvonne.

If you knew Gg, you knew you could always find her out in her yard gardening, at Grandview playing her pull tabs, or at bingo as she loved her nightly socials and telling the caller it was fixed.

Gg loved her family and was there for all of us no matter what it was. Gg adored spending time with her great-grandchildren often picking up her Titty from school for a piece of blueberry pie at the Scand House and the times she spent with her granddaughter Peewee out blueberry picking, fishing, and camping will be memories we cherish forever.

Marie is survived by her daughter Yvonne Arthur, granddaughter Rebecca Arthur, great-granddaughter Keilynn Hodges-Arthur, sister Nora Spourdalakis (Marino) and their family, special nieces Ingrid, Betty Ann, and Greta, whom she always enjoyed coffee and drives with.

Marie is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her first husband Leonard (Red) McLaughlin and husband Alan McClelland, her parents Peter and Veronica Chevrier, brother Thomas (Ann) Chevrier, sisters Myrtle (Kurt) Appelkvist, Kay (Charlie) Salonen and Viola (Robert) Sawdo, Edna (Bryan) Blair and her great grandson Matthew Hodges.
Special thank you to the staff at Bethammi nursing home on Carrie St., especially Tegan for the care she gave Gg in her final hours.

Special thank you to Kyle Stone for spending so much time with Gg and bringing her scratch tickets, you always put a smile on her face.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life for friends and family will be held for Gg in her home located at 273 Toledo St. Thunder Bay ON on Saturday July 29th, 2023, from 2:00p.m. until 5:00p.m.
