Marilyn E. Wilson
October 26, 1942 - December 22, 2023

Marilyn embarked on her final and greatest voyage on the evening of December 22, 2023. Untethered from the cords of this earth, she is finally free to enjoy the glorious liberty of eternity in the presence of her Heavenly Father. Marilyn's greatest desire to look on the face of her Saviour has been fulfilled.

Born in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, Marilyn and her sister Barbara were bereaved of their mother at a young age and spent 10 years living with various relatives. In 1956 Marilyn moved to Port Arthur to live with her father Albert Wilding and his new wife Tynne. While living in Port Arthur, Marilyn surrendered her heart and will to God, and accepted the redemption paid her by the death of Jesus. This changed the course of her life. Instead of seeking her own pleasures, she began to seek God's will.

Shortly after this, Marilyn met her beloved husband-to-be, Mark Wilson. They married in 1961 and spent the next 59 years together. Mark and Marilyn raised 5 children and were blessed to see 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Mark and Marilyn loved to travel. They saw the Caribbean, Ireland, Scotland, Spain, Alaska, and took innumerable road trips together. Both emphatically maintained that the trip wasn't merely the destination, but the journey.

Marilyn was predeceased by her husband Mark on August 29, 2020. Also predeceased by her parents Mary Audry (nee Vaundette), Albert Wilding, and stepmother Tynne Wilding; parents-in-law Harry and Francis Wilson, brothers-in-law David, John, and Miles.

Marilyn is survived by her sister Barbara Wallace; brother and sister-in-law Carol Wilson, Robert and Helen Wilson, Bob and Barbara Smid, Bill and Rosemary Yocum, Susan Frank, Charles and Margie Wilson, and Margaret and Paul Capon, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Marilyn is survived by her children: Brenda Aiello, Mark (Ranee) Wilson, Mary Wilson, Sharon (Paul) St. Cartier, Daniel (Ashley) Wilson. Her grandchildren are: Gabriel (Rachael) Aiello; Evangeline (Dorsey) Leach; Joy Wilson; lkaika, Makana, and Harmony Wilson; Shevaun, Noah, and Jonah Wilson. Great grandchildren: Sophia, Vera, and Demi Aiello, Isaiah Leach, and soon to be born Korre Leach.

Marilyn was laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery. An informal celebration of her life will be held at Sargent & Son Reception Centre on Friday, December 29, beginning at 2:00pm. Words of tribute will be said at 2:30pm, and will be livestreamed via Sargent & Son Facebook page.

Should friends desire, contributions in memory of Marilyn may be made to a charity of choice. Condolences may be expressed at www.sargentandson.com.
