It is with deep sadness that the family announces the unexpected passing of Marjorie Ellen Young, age 64 years, peacefully at home on Sunday, November 3, 2024.

Marjorie was born on May 5, 1960 and was a lifetime resident of Thunder Bay. She was educated locally, volunteered at the Thunder Bay Aboriginal Friendship Centre and worked for Thunder Bay Answering Service, where she truly loved the people she worked with and those she talked to on a daily basis. Marjorie was a social butterfly and enjoyed interacting with everyone and anyone. She had a huge heart, was well respected and was always willing to help anybody in the Community who needed it, in any way possible.

Marjorie enjoyed traveling, dancing with her son, writing and reading, gardening, her family and friends, as well as her quiet time completed with a cup of tea or flavoured coffee, music and a marijuana cigarette.

Marjorie was very proud of her two sons, Kevin Pearce and Ryan Perala; her three special grandchildren Kailyn Pearce, Karah Pearce and Raija Leplante, and her daughters-in-law Reshelle Valley and Megz Otto. She will also be deeply missed by her beautiful sister Charlynne Archer and brother-in-law Ed Archer; her wonderful nieces Madeleine and Marlena Archer as well as her many dear close friends whom she truly loved.

She was predeceased by her father, Arthur Joseph Young, mother Shirley Morneau (nee Reid) and step-father Charlie Morneau; grandparents Walter and Mary Reid and her brother Patrick Young, whom she cherished.

A Celebration of Marjorie's Life will be held in the Summer of 2025 with details to be announced once determined. We know there are many lives who have been touched by Marjorie and will look forward to gathering together in honour of a remarkable woman. More information can be obtained by emailing Marjorie's son Kevin at kpearce_77@hotmail.com

Should friends so desire, donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Fay Peterson House for Women or the Thunder Bay Soup Kitchen would be greatly appreciated.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James.
