It is with great sadness that the family of Mark Laviolette announce his sudden passing on Sunday, May 17, 2015. Mark was born in Fort William on July 18, 1964 to George and Sheila Laviolette. He attended St Edward’s and later Selkirk High School. After high school he started working for Great Lakes Paper Mill and was later employed by Canada Post where he worked until his retirement in February of 2015. Mark married Lori Carroll in September of 1988 followed by the birth of his two daughters. Mark’s passion for sports memorabilia made him many friends.  His greatest love was his family including his granddaughter Blair and he enjoyed spending time with them whenever he could. He will be lovingly remembered by mother Sheila Laviolette and always missed by his wife Lori, daughters Rauslyn and Jorji (Jordan Desforges) and so loved granddaughter Blair. He is also survived by brothers Denis (Shelley) Laviolette and Gary (Joan) Laviolette and sister Karen Laviolette, as well as numerous members of the Carroll and Laviolette families. He was predeceased by father George Laviolette, brother Kevin Laviolette and in-laws Peter and Rae Carroll. Visitation for friends and family will be held Thursday, May 21, 2015 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at the Blake Funeral Chapel. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 22, 2015 at 2:00pm in the Blake Funeral Chapel, 200 May St S. officiated by Rev. Msgr. P.M. Stilla V.G.  In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Shelter House of Thunder Bay or the Dew Drop Inn. As per Mark’s wishes cremation has taken place and interment will follow at a later date.
