Mrs. Marlene Lavina Davis, aged 90 years, resident of Hogarth Riverview Manor, passed away peacefully at Hogarth on January 3, 2024. Born on September 30, 1933 in Port Arthur, Ontario, she was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother.
She will be remembered for her quick wit and infectious laugh, and for spoiling her pets rotten. Marlene always kept up an active correspondence with her friends across the country and volunteered decades of service to community outreach and self-help programs across the region. She always kept an open door and an open heart to all.
Marlene enjoyed spending time with family and friends at her camp on Marmion Lake, and was always up for a game of cribbage or a tour around the lake on the party barge.
Marlene is survived by her devoted husband of 67 years, John (Jack) Davis; her children, Karen (Barry) Kirkbride, J. Ken (Nadine) Davis, Craig Davis, and her grandchildren: Michael Davis, Kerri (James Williams) Davis, and Danielle (Jose Calderon) Davis, as well as her step-grandchildren Kaitlin (Colin) Miles, Stefanie (Jamie Le Breton) Kirkbride, and James Nuttall.
Marlene is predeceased by her parents, Thomas Melville Graham and Mona (née Mitchell) Graham, and her brother, Roger Graham.
Special thanks to the wonderful staff at Hogarth Riverview Manor for their years of exceptional care provided to Marlene and support for the family.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service for family and friends will take place at a later date. If so desired, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be greatly appreciated.
