Mary Anne (Anne) Cadenhead, age 84 years of Thunder Bay, passed away at TBRHSC on February 25, 2016 with her husband of 60 years, Ted, by her side.

Anne's life was an adventure; she left Yarmouth, NS for the excitement of Toronto, but it was a hurricane in Nova Scotia when she met Ted, who took her to Northern Quebec, the Gaspe and New Brunswick, but, it was in Thunder Bay that the family found home. Part of that home was their discovery of 'camp' at Silver Islet.

Anne was from a musical family and played stand-up bass in jazz and Dixieland groups; since a teenager, in Thunder Bay, she played with Fat Tom and the Bottom of the Barrel.  In her earlier years, Anne was also a competitive golfer and curler.

Anne is missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Ted; sons Jeff and Charlie (Paula); grandchildren Jasmine, Dylan, Ryan and Drew; sisters Jean and Hilda; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews across North America.  She was predeceased by her parents; brothers Bill and Jack; and sister Betty.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2016 in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street, presided by Rev. Ed Swayze of St. Stephen’s Anglican Church.  Visitation for family and friends will begin one hour prior, at 10:00 a.m.  Cremation will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Anne's memory to the charity of your choice.

We miss you, but never forget you, put on some jazz turn down the lights and say goodnight.
