MARY MARLAINE FREY
June 3, 1947 – December 8, 2023
Mrs. Mary Marlaine “Marnie” Frey (nee Reid), age 76 years of Murillo, passed away peacefully in Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre on Friday, December 8, 2023.
Marnie was born in Toronto, Ontario on June 3, 1947. She travelled widely before settling down in British Columbia, working as a nurse. Marnie married Chris Frey on October 8, 1977 and they began their family. Together, they lived in various communities in Saskatchewan and Ontario, where Christopher was a Pastor, most recently at O'Connor Conmee Baptist Church. Outgoing and social by nature, Marnie was always active in her local community, volunteering and participating in a wide range of events and activities. A passionate singer, she sang in many choirs, most recently in the Lakehead Choral Group.
Although Marnie's time with us was far too short, we are so grateful for the years we had with an amazing mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Marnie is survived by her son Brad (Julia) and grandchildren Mitchell and Victoria; mother-in-law Cecilia Frey and sisters-in-law Jackie and Susan; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Christopher and their daughter Lydia; her parents Joan and Donald Reid; father-in-law Juliusz Frey; and sister Donna.
Funeral Services for the late Mrs. Mary Marlaine Frey will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024 at 11:00am in Westfort Baptist Church (1219 Ford Street, Thunder Bay)
In lieu of flowers, donations made in memory of Marnie to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
