It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Mervin Kenneth Hepp, age 64 years, on Friday, March 12, 2010. Born in Fort William, on April 19, 1945, Mervin was the oldest of four children. As a young man, he went into the army. When he returned home he worked at various jobs including Lakehead University and the Canada Games Complex. He enjoyed playing musical instruments and loved working on crafts such as wood turned bowls and lawn ornaments. He also spent countless hours making models of just about anything.
Merv was a kind hearted, gentle soul who will be dearly missed. He was predeceased by his father Stephen Hepp and is survived by his mother Kathleen (Prokosh) Hepp; brother Len (Lise) Heppl; sisters Donna (Rob) Meservia and Charlene (Tony) Armenti; nieces and nephews, Dan (Susan) Hepp, Mike (Catherine) Hepp, Dale Downey, Stevan Meservia, Brittany James, Caitlin Hepp and Taylor St. Denis and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
We would like to thank the helpful staff at St. Joseph’s Heritage for all their care and concern.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mervin Kenneth Hepp will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, March 20, 2010 in the WEST FORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James with Fr. Rey Ronquillio of St. Elizabeth's Roman Catholic Church officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
