It is with great sadness the family of Michael John Dufour announces his passing on January 29, 2021.
Mike was born in Thunder Bay on October 6, 1947. He worked at Abitibi Provincial Papers as a machinist until his retirement.Mike loved and rooted for the Montreal Canadiens
and Pittsburgh Steelers. Mike truly enjoyed years of camping and fishing with friends and family. You could always find Mike looking for a “snack” stealing cookies any chance he could!
He will forever be missed by daughters, Michelle (Nick) Chaykowski, Sherry Bulmer,and son Ed (Lora) Bulmer, grandchildren, Erica, Connor, Cody, Alexa, Brett, Mitchell and Kaleigh. Sister Cecelia (Alex) Thompson, brothers Joe (Linda), Jim (Wanda), Darcy (Helen), Steve (Janet) and numerous nieces and nephews. His beloved dog Bella. Mike was predeceased by his parents Annie and Joseph Dufour, wife Vi Bulmer-Dufour and sister Rita Saunders.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Bezanson, Donald Hutchinson, nurses from St. Elizabeth Health Care and staff at St Joseph’s Hospital that helped keep him comfortable. To all the staff at Safeway Pharmacy on Court St. your notes really lifted his spirits and made him smile.
Cremation has taken place, a service will take place in the spring of 2021. Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 332 North May Street, Thunder Bay.
