It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our much beloved and adored husband, father and Nonno, Michele (Mike) Crupi on Saturday, October 17, 2015 with his family by his side.

He was born December 16, 1929 in Siderno, Italy. He married the love of his life Adelina on August 22, 1953 and immigrated to Canada on October 13, 1953.

He arrived in Thunder Bay on October 17, 1953, where he passed away 62 years later. Together they raised a family of three children and had many years of love, joy and cherished memories with his family and close friends.

He worked numerous jobs before his long career at Cargill Grain until his retirement in 1993. He was a member of the Principe Di Piemonte (Da Vinci Centre), St. Dominic’s R.C. Church, St. Dominic’s Senior Group and the Associazone Sidernese.

He was an avid gardener and took pride in showing his garden and greenhouse. He enjoyed bowling with his church league for many years, later switching his talents to bocce with the church seniors league.

Visiting friends could always enjoy a glass of homemade wine and the many stories and jokes he would retell. He also enjoyed the occasional visit to the local casino to try his luck. By far his greatest love was for his wife, family, and especially his grandchildren.

He cherished family dinners and any occasion where he could visit and spend time with those he loved. He will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his wife of 62 years Adelina, children: Vince (Marina), Frank (Elena) and Don (Carla); grandchildren Lance, Sabrina, Michael, Marilena, Lucia, Alea and Ermando; his brothers: Cosimo (Ida) Crupi, Giuseppe (Rosetta) Crupi; his sister: Theresa (Giuseppe) Trumbari (in Toronto); brothers-in-law, Carlo (Concetta) Schirripa, sisters-in-law Ida Schirripa; Rosetta (Cosimo) Pedulla; Lina Schirripa, Laura (Giuseppe) Figliomeni (in Italy) as well as numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents Vincenzo and Rosa-Maria, his brother Francesco, sister Maria, brothers-in-law Giuseppe and Vincenzo.

Thanks to close friend Diane Crupi and special nephew Francesco Pedulla for all your support and love. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Dominic's R.C. Church celebrated by Rev. Maurizio Maifredi. The entombment will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at St. Dominic's R.C. Church with Vigil prayers at 8 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial donations can be made to St. Dominic's R.C. Church or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
