With full hearts and deep sorrow, we share the peaceful passing of Millie Weselak on April 10th, 2025, at 12:05 AM — a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend to many.

Born in Fort William in 1950 to John and Olga Stanczyk, Millie lived a life of quiet strength, humor, and love. She graduated from Westgate High School and became a nurse through Lakehead Regional School of Nursing, dedicating over 40 years as an RN caring for others, finally retiring from the NICU at TBHSC while working short stints in Florida.

She treasured the memory of her marriage to Larry Weselak and shared mutual respect and friendship with him until his passing.

Millie had an adventurous spirit. She found joy in movement, learning, running marathons and playing golf and tennis.  Later in life she enjoyed these activities with her partner John during their years together. She filled her life with laughter, even in her final days. Her love for her children and grandchildren was the heartbeat of her world. Millie cherished her visits to Vancouver visiting both her grandchildren and children for many years.

Millie is lovingly remembered by her children, Christian and Kim (Reynald); her grandchildren, Eliott and Zoé; her brothers, Ron, Larry (Rosemary), and Rob; brother-in-law George Weselak (Karen); and many extended family and friends including her childhood friend Marsha, and walking, running partner Allison. She was preceded in death by her parents, Larry Weselak, and John.

Our heartfelt thanks to the Roseview care team.  A Special thanks goes to her private caretaker and companion - Myrna Lingon, whose kindness and companionship brought light to Millie’s final year.  The family will have a private prayer service to cherish the memory in honour of this wonderful woman.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and resilience — and she will be deeply missed.

Donations can be sent to the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital.
