In the early hours of Christmas morning, Nancy was welcomed to Heaven in the warm embrace of her parents and brought to be with her granddaughter Ryan.
Nancy was born in Port Arthur to parents Frank and Doreen Gavin. She attended John Street Public School, Gron Morgan High School, and graduated from Sault Ste. Marie College hairdressing program. Nancy then worked as a hairdresser at various retirement homes and worked at Walford in the kitchen and housekeeping before retiring to be a full-time Grandma in 2005.
Nancy always had a zest for life. Growing up in the country, she loved riding her horses and competing in many horse shows. She also enjoyed helping her parents with various tasks around the farm. She always referred to herself as the “tough farm broad” and would remind her family on multiple occasions just how tough she was. She spent many days at camp in Geraldton with her family and her closest friends, Debbie and Susan, and also enjoyed shopping and going for lunch with her friend Ersilia. She enjoyed playing bingo, travelling with her husband and going for walks. But most of all, she enjoyed visits and playing with her grandchildren. Nobody loved and spoiled her grandbabies like she did.
Nancy leaves behind her loving husband of 52 years, Brian Beaucage, and children Richard (Kelly), Corey (Jen), Michael (Mark), and Lori (Jarred) Lafreniere. She also leaves her pride and joy grandchildren, Jonathan, Andrew, Allison, Alexis, Ayla and Elyn. Also left to mourn are her sisters Joan Gavin and Karen Arola, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family members, and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Doreen Gavin, granddaughter Ryan Lafreniere, and in-laws John and Mary Beaucage.
As Nancy was always the life of the party, the party isn’t over. It has just moved to a better location.
The family would like to thank the wonderful doctors and nurses on 1A at TBRHSC. Your kindness and compassion will never be forgotten. A celebration of life will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre – Regional Cancer Care Northwest.
