Patricia “Pat” Inman, age 86, resident of Thunder Bay passed away, in hospice at St. Joseph's Hospital, on May 4, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on April 16, 1938 in Fort William, Ontario, she attended Vickers Heights Public School, Fort William Collegiate High School and graduated in 1960 from the McKellar School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
She enjoyed her nursing career which began at McKellar Hospital as an Emergency Room Nurse. She later became a Certified Occupational Health and Safety Nurse working at Canada Car and retired from Hogarth Westmount Hospital in 1996. Pat was proud to work as a nurse and care for her many patients over her 35-year career. Her nurse’s cap was never off, as she always took time to support and care for family/friends in times of need.
Pat cherished her home on Broadway Avenue where she adored her flower gardens and feeding the deer and birds. She enjoyed hosting family/friend meals as she was an excellent cook and baker.
Many happy summers were spent camping at numerous provincial parks, especially Camp Quetico on Eva Lake. Here she liked gardening, fishing, swimming, canoeing, and sitting around the campfire. Pat loved picking blueberries and mushrooms. She also celebrated her Ukrainian traditions.
She was a passionate grandmother, where fun banter was always had with Dan and her grandchildren. She was their number one fan who always was present with her “camera” for any activity, sport, or event. Over the past 5 years, her visits with her great grandson brought her joy. She was an avid reader and liked challenging puzzles. Volunteering was very important to Pat where she spent many hours on church committees, helping out at Pioneer Ridge, flower gardens and the Shelter House.
She is survived by her devoted and loving husband, of over 63 years, Daniel Inman; daughters, Debbie, Lisa (Joe) Tyance; sons, Rick (Christine), Mike (Barb) and David; grandchildren, Matthew Inman, Daniel Marrs, Jennifer Marrs of Utah, Karli (Garrett) Tyance-Hassell of Alaska, Summer (Grant) Tyance of B.C., and Sky Tyance; and great-grandchild, Bennett Inman. She was treasured wife, mom, granny, and special friend who will be dearly missed.
Predeceased by her parents, Paul and Nellie Pidluzny; sister, Florence; brother, Paul; and Aunt, Nettie Urick.
Cremation has taken place. A service will be held at Pinegrove United Church - 100, HWY 130 - on Tuesday, June 4th at 11:00 a.m. with David Silliman officiating. To honour Pat’s wishes, a private interment with immediate family will be held.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in Pat’s name made to Make-A-Wish Canada or to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
