January 15,1962 - March 6, 2025
With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Paul Scheiwiller, who peacefully departed this world with his loved ones by his side and entered eternal life on March 6th, 2025.
Paul fought an exhausting and tough battle with several health issues for the last two years. We are so proud of what he overcame. Unfortunately, even though he wanted to stay with us, his body was tired.
Paul was born in Errington, Ontario to Maximillian and Berta Scheiwiller.
Paul grew up in Longlac, Ontario, and later moved to Thunder Bay where he was employed at Northern Woods. In 1988, in his small Westfort garage, Paul and Mike Stachejczuk started up the ServiceMaster franchise in Thunder Bay. They both earned a reputation for being knowledgeable, dedicated and professional businessmen within the community. Years later, the company expanded which included four other business partners. Together, the ServiceMaster business expanded and served other towns/communities in Northwestern Ontario.
Paul and Cindy met in 2000, and it was love at first sight. They were married on August 29, 2003, and spent 25 memorable and loving years together.
After 34 years of hard work and dedication, Paul retired from ServiceMaster in April 2022 and decided to start up Correct Construction with his good friend and partner Billy Mitchell.
Paul was tough but fair, yet he had a heart of gold and would always put the needs of others ahead of his own. He always wore his heart on his sleeve and would give you the shirt off his back.
Paul had a passion for wheels, speed, and track. He had his own special vehicle collection, which included his Viper, Dodge Demon, TRX truck, 1970 Cuda, and his Monster Truck. He was also a Diesel Mechanic by trade.
Paul's love for the outdoors included camping, hunting, fishing, ski- dooing and quadding with his family, siblings and friends, and he made sure that his outdoor hobbies were passed down onto his children. Moose opener in October was Paul's favourite time of the year where he built many lifelong friends. Paul was known as "Bulldog". He was a perfectionist, and an extremely proud, and talented carpenter. With his self-taught carpentry skills, he built a stately home for his loving wife and family.
Paul could often be found in his Man Cave working on a project. Often, many of his buddies would drop in for a visit and a beer. He enjoyed playing cards in his Man Cave with friends and watching the Montreal Canadiens play on the big screen.
Paul enjoyed travelling with his wife, Cindy ("BooBoo") and his children where many memories were made. He also loved watching movies, sports, car restoration shows, and funny YouTube videos. He especially enjoyed watching The Price is Right with Cindy and their fur babies along with other T.V. sitcoms. Paul would always have the T.V. on full blast! Paul had a great sense of humour and was always the loudest person in the room. He was the life of any party and enjoyed entertaining and knew how to have a good time. Paul had such an enormous passion for food and eating. He especially loved blueberry muffins, soup, Coney dogs and burgers along with any type of ethnic foods, and he loved his chocolate bars and Lay’s potato chips. He was also known for making the best crepes ever and took pride in making them for his family.
Paul will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Cindy, his children, Robyn Scheiwiller, Ashley Daigle (Justin), Britney Richardson (Benn Porter), Spencer Richardson, and his grandchildren Greyson and Noah Daigle. He is also sadly missed by his siblings, Joe Scheiwiller, Theresa Scheiwiller (Rejean), Martha Verville (Guy), brother-in-law Donald Lotysz, sister-in-law Marcia Lotysz, his nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, numerous cousins, fur babies Lexi and Parker and grand dogs Nova and Griffin.
Paul was especially close to his BIG brother, Joe. They spoke daily and had conversations on a wide range of topics. Paul also had many close “buddies”. He made many lasting lifetime memories with Mike Milanese, Billy Mitchell, Conrad Letowski, Terry Steele, Carl Bajada, Vic Miller and the hunting gang, Jeff Freund, Tony Dupuis, Norm Nadin, and Doug Mason.
Paul is predeceased by his parents Berta and Max Scheiwiller, in laws Stanley and Mary Lotysz, and sister-in-law Lucie Scheiwiller.
On behalf of the Scheiwiller family, we would like to thank all our friends and family for your loving and continued support during this difficult time. Thank you to all who visited, sent text messages, phone calls, gift baskets, hot meals, food trays, flowers, and to all those who visited Paul while he was in the hospital. Words cannot express our appreciation and gratitude.
Paul's Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025, at 1:00pm at the Best Western Nor Wester Hotel and Conference Centre on Hwy 61.
In Paul's memory, please feel free to wear any Montreal Canadiens' attire such as shirts, jerseys, hats etc. to the Celebration of Life. If you so wish, donations can be made to the Kidney Foundation of Thunder Bay or the Thunder Bay and District Humane Society.
