In loving memory of Paul Babula at University Hospital, London, on Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at the age of 83.
Cherished father of Karen Babula Brandsma (Eric Brandsma), Dean Babula (Terry Rowe) and Mark Babula (Erin Sisson). Proud Granddad of Mandrina (Chris), Ashley, Emma, Merik and Great-Granddad of Annika. Dear nephew of Sonja and her son Walter (Donna) and family. Paul was a retired plumber/pipefitter of Abitibi Provincial Papers Inc.
He was an avid spectator of Sprint Car Series racing and often travelled stateside to Minnesota to take in a race, or watch a professional sports game like Vikings football or Twins baseball. Paul also enjoyed listening to country music, especially Johnny Cash, which inspired him to take guitar lessons in his later years.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 12, 2016 in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street, Thunder Bay. Visitation for family and friends will begin one hour prior (10:00 – 11:00 a.m.) to the service. Private family interment in Riverside Cemetery, Thunder Bay. As an expression of sympathy, donations made to Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, 984 Oliver Rd, Thunder Bay, ON P7B 6V4, would be appreciated.
