Paul Silas Lawson, age 48, known to everyone as Silas, died unexpectedly on September 16, 2023.
Silas was born on November 21, 1974 to Alexander and Sophia Lawson in Red Lake, Ontario. Silas was the 8th of 9 children. He was a member of the Mishkeegogamang First Nation and grew up in Pickle Lake and Thunder Bay, attending Crolancia School. He worked as a carpenter and equipment operator and enjoyed playing guitar, cooking, hunting, and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his partner Diane Watt; mother Sophia; children Cindy, Chanel, Alexa, Paul, Skylar, Scarlett, and Sawyer and Adrianna and Derek Watt; grandchildren Grayson and Kaliah. He is also survived by sisters Jenny, Susan, Joyce, and Doris and brothers Raymond, Joshua, Peter (Jodi), and many nieces, nephews, and family members.
Silas was predeceased by his father Alex and brother Donnie.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 28, 2023 in the Chapel of Jenkens Funeral Home, presided by Rev. Tamar Plummer. Visitation will begin one hour prior. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery.
