It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Paul Primeau, who passed away with his family by his side on Friday, April 11th, 2025, at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.
Paul was born in the early morning of March 23rd, 1947, in Port Arthur. Paul is a proud master’s graduate in Political Sciences with a BA in Indigenous Learning, and he always believed in the importance of education. Paul spent a lot of his professional career at Wequedong Lodge and as local president of the PSAC branch in Thunder Bay. He was a dedicated man to his professional roles and exceeded expectations in excellence within his work. Where Paul shone even brighter was alongside his family. He loved unconditionally, always showering his loved ones with his genuine love and peaceful presence. Family time was the most important to him; he especially enjoyed weekly outings with his son, spending time out at camp with his daughter and son-in-law, and being able to watch his great grandchildren grow. Paul was an avid hunter, trapper, and a profound fisherman, who displayed love and respect for the outdoors and the life it brought and protected.
Paul is survived by his loved ones – daughter Tammy (Jay), son Shawn, grandson Curtis (Jamie), great grandchildren, mother of his children and lifelong friend Linda, siblings Robert, Margaret (Danny), Annabelle, and many nieces and nephews. Although Paul is leaving us, he is reunited with his loved ones that have been patiently awaiting his arrival – parents Annie and Adolphus, daughter Olivia, and many brothers and sisters.
It saddens our family to have a great piece of our hearts suddenly taken from us. From the brightest stars to the finest gems, nothing will replace him. Dad, grandfather, great-grandfather, we love him, always and forever.
Cremation will occur Thursday April 17, 2025, and a private celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Thunder Bay Cancer Care Clinic would be appreciated.
