Mr. Peter Badiuk, age 84 years, a resident of Thunder Bay, passed away peacefully in Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, on, April 29, 2016, with his wife, cousin and friend by his side.

Peter was born in Buchanan Saskatchewan and grew up on the family farm, moving to the city in 1953. He spent his working years in the construction trade as a carpenter.

He was a longtime member of the Church of the Transfiguration. Peter took great pride in caring for his home, garden and this was extended to the all of the neighbours as well. He was always the first one outside to sweep the sidewalk or shovel the snow.

His love for outdoors was also seen in his love for fishing, ice fishing and hunting. Peter is survived and will be missed by his wife of 41 years Maria. He is also survived by his brothers, George, Mike, Joe and John, sister Mary and their families.

He was predeceased by his parents Fred and Irene, brothers Nick, David and Johnny, sister-in-law Helen, Bev, Kay and Doreen, brothers-in-law Walter and John and nephew Darrell. Funeral services for Peter will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 when family and friends will gather for Liturgy in Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Transfiguration at 11:00am celebrated by Rev. Vladimir Chvets. 

Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.  Panachyda will be offered on Tuesday evening, at 7:00pm in Blake Funeral Chapel. 

If friends desire, memorials to the Northern Cancer fund would be appreciated.

Peter Badiuk will be remembered in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove.  Annual dedication service Sunday, June 11, 2017.
