Mr. Peter (Tony) Provenzano, age 94 years, passed away peacefully with his loving family at his side in the TBRHSC on Monday, July 11th, 2016.

Tony was born in Nicastro, Catanzaro, Italy on October 6, 1921. He was taught the trade of cabinet making by his father at a young age. A passion he would carry for the rest of his life. He married the love of his life, Maria Sacco on December 18, 1948 and they had four children. Tony immigrated to Canada to provide a better life for his young family and joined his sister Angelina Ferrise in Port Arthur in 1952. He enjoyed many good years working as a custom cabinet maker for Arnone’s Cabinets and raised his family at their home on Winnipeg Avenue and then on Anten Street.

Tony’s passion was working in his garage on various inventive projects. He will be forever remembered for his amazing skill as a cabinet maker, innovative mind, loyalty and pride.

Tony will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his children: Tony and his daughter Ashley (fiancé Byron Holbik); Jack and his sons Peter (Pamela, son Oliver) and Christopher; Adrian and his wife Luisa and their children Anthony (Suzanne) and Lauren; and Claudia and her husband Sonny Costanzo and their daughters Crystal (Paul Kraft, daughters Clara and Daphne), Catrina (Adrian Mirabelli, children Audriana and Sonny), Loriana (Daren Manion), and Stephanie (fiancé Robert Servais). He is also survived by his siblings Ugo (Elvira) and Petrina, as well as numerous relatives in Thunder Bay, Italy and Argentina. He is predeceased by his wife Maria, and siblings Angelina, Rosa, Marietta, Norina, Frank and Pietro.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2016, when family and friends will gather for the Funeral Mass beginning at 10:30 AM in St. Anthony’s R.C. Church, celebrated by Rev. Luigi Filippini. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 from 5-7 PM in the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street, where the Vigil Service will begin at 7 PM.
