Philip George Timothy (Phil) Harris passed away peacefully in Hospice on May 29, 2024, at the age of 73. Phil was born June 8, 1950, in Port Arthur and educated there, graduating from Hillcrest and after that studied abroad. Phil retired December 29, 2010 from LiUNA 607 as Business Rep after 26 years. Phil was an avid curler. Winning the 1967 NO Pepsi School Boys and going to Flin Flon for the Canadian Championship. Willard Eby was the skip. Phil was a long-time member of the PACC. Phil also enjoyed golfing, fishing and was an avid reader.

Phil is survived by Sheila Harper, his partner of 20 years. Survived by sister Rosemary Harris of Tofield, Alberta and brother John (Sheila). Niece Lisa (Hal) Booker and children Finley and Felicity. Niece Sandi (Jamie) Waller and children Noah, Ethan and Autumn of Georgetown, ON. Stepdaughter Robin (Darren) Sawford and their children Kaitlyn, Lucas, Juliette and Noah of Calgary. Sister-in-law Muriel Suggitt of Carberry MB. Predeceased by parents George and Marie Harris, brothers-in-law Mike Casselman and Allan and Alex Court and sister-in-law Marilyn Stenner.

As per Phil’s wishes cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at the Port Arthur Curling Centre, 214 Egan Street, on Wednesday, June 12 from 4-7 pm. A private family interment will take place in the family plot at St. Andrews, at a later date. Donations to the PACC Rooftop Units or the Thunder Bay District Humane Society would be greatly appreciated.
