It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Phyllis Stokaluk on April 14, 2025, just short of her 104th birthday.
She was the oldest living of the Stokaluk, Fonso and Cappello families. In her younger days she ran the concession at Strathcona Golf Course. She worked at Logan’s Flower Shop and worked at the Port Arthur Clinic for over 30 years in the accounting department.
Her hardest job was at home in the backyard trying to get rid of dandelions from 1950-2025. The dandelions won.
After retirement it was traveling to Hawaii, Barbados, Expo 67, trips across Canada and the U.S. mostly to Las Vegas where they should have bought a house because they spent a lot of winters and weekend trips there.
After traveling it was time to spend time at home with her family- sons, daughters-in-law, grand kids, great grandkids and great-great grandkids. The numbers are still adding up.
Phyllis was predeceased by husband Steve Sr., son Don and wife Linda Stokaluk, grandson-in-law Dale McGinnis, brothers and sisters, and in-laws totaling 29.
Survived by sons Steve, daughter-in-law Frances Stokaluk, Grandchildren Cheryl McGinnis, Stephanie Prete (Giorgio), Steve Stokaluk, and Donna McLean (Bart).
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025 when family and friends will gather for Funeral Mass beginning at 10:00 am in Our Lady of Loretto R.C. Church, with Rev. Francis Pudicherry presiding. If unable to attend the church service due to health issues or mobility concerns, you can meet the family at the Sargent Family Reception Centre, 21 N. Court Street, for a reception on Friday, May 2, 2025, from 1 p.m.- 3:30 p.m. On-line condolences may be made at www.sargentandson.com.
