It is with broken hearts that the Walker family announces the sudden passing of Ray Walker on Friday, June 7th, 2024. Ray was born September 1st, 1949 in Thunder Bay.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Mary, his brother Redfern (Bev) as well as sister Maria (Dudley).

Ray was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, and he will be truly missed by all who knew him.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Sandra Walker and their two sons Colin (Anna) and Stuart (Nicole); Elenor Hansen and their daughter Tammy (Chris Costanzo); granddaughters Jordan, Parker and Jacklyn; sister June Bryant (Cameron), as well as his in-laws Bev Walker (Red), Diane Poulin (Brian), Doug Oktaba, AnnMarie Oktaba (Stephen), Anne Oktaba and several nieces and nephews.

Ray's children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. He was always involved in their sports and hobbies, he was very proud of all their accomplishments in life.

Ray was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing with his long time friend Walter Kolinski (Maria). They spent a lot of time together at the lake and have many good stories to tell. Over the years, Ray always met with friends at their coffee club. Ray also spent many years with the Hill City Kinsmen.

Ray graduated from LU with a Forest Technology Degree in 1969 and had many jobs over the years as he was a jack of all trades. He may also be remembered by some of his local business ventures like Auto Tech, The Sports Hut or Yuk Yuk's Comedy Club.

As per Ray's wishes, cremation and a private interment took place in the family plot at Mountainview Cemetery. A Celebration of Ray's Life will be held at a future date to be determined. Details will be shared with family and friends once arrangements have been made.

Should friends so desire, donations made in his name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley Street at Algoma.
