We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved husband and father, Raymond Ralph Suddaby, of Thunder Bay, Ontario, on Saturday December 12, 2015.  at the age of 79.

Ray was born on April 7, 1936 in Fort William. He married Shirley Taylor on November 27, 1954.

Ray is survived by his wife of 61 years, Shirley, his sister Nancy Lambert (Winnipeg), children Ken (Belinda) of Burlington, Pat (Judy) of Thunder Bay, Shelly-Rae (Brian) of Burlington. He is also survived by five wonderful grandchildren; Blair (Jon), Amber-Lee (Nick), Tegin (Jeff), Ryan (Laura), and Aaron (Lisa) was well as 4 great-grandchildren. Ray was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Mary and brothers Edward and Gerald.

He adored his family more than anything, but being with nature including hunting and fishing became a very close second.

Ray worked at Abitibi Provincial Pulp and Paper where he obtained his Electrician Certification.  He later left Abitibi to work in Construction following that he joined Valley Camp Inc as an Electrical/Dock Foreman until his retirement in 1993. Raymond and Shirley owned and operated Night Owl Video on Frederica St. for many years.

Ray loved his 28 years as a hockey coach for the Elks minor hockey league and was a coach and Umpire in Chief for the Current River Baseball League.  He also helped out at West Thunder Community Centre for many years and truly enjoyed the friends he made all throughout his volunteering years.

The family would also like to thank the Hogarth Riverview Manor - Willow Grove for the amazing care they provided for Ray.

Raymond will be deeply missed by his loving family and many friends.

Funeral Services for the late Raymond Suddaby will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the Habourview Funeral Centre 499 N. Cumberland Street, officiated by Rev. Terry Sawchuk. Visitation for friends will begin one hour prior to service time.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
