Mrs. Reetta Anneli Junni, age 76 years, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011.
Reetta was born in Kangasniemi, Finland on June 7, 1934. She married Pentti in 1955. In 1958 they immigrated to Port Arthur with their young daughter. Reetta's life revolved around her family. Favourite pastimes included fishing, berry picking and gardening. Her happy, easy going nature will be remembered by all who knew her.
Survived by her loving husband Pentti; daughters Eija (Jari) Leinonen, Helena (Frank) Armiento and Anja Erwin; grandchildren Esa, Kai, Alex, Ben and Christopher; sisters Martta, Marjatta and Raija; brothers Paavo, Veikko and Jakko. Also survived by beloved niece Anja and her husband Mikko Hankilanoja and their children Kaisa (Ari-Pekka), Juha (Kristi) and Maija and numerous brother and sisters in law, nieces, nephews and other relatives mostly in Finland.
Reetta is predeceased by her parents Vilho and Sylvi Suuronen; sister Eila and brothers Seppo and Risto.
Funeral services for the late Mrs. Reetta Junni will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 in Hilldale Lutheran Church with the Rev. Jari Lahtinen officiating.
Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to service time.
