It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Richard “Dave” Aiken, on Monday, April 27, 2015 at the age of 83.

Dave will be sadly missed by his children Russ (Carla), Jody, Rob (Teri), Lois and Wendy (Don). He is also survived by his grandchildren Bradley, Brent and Brock, Alex and Brandon, Michelle, Matthew (Colleen), Kelsey and Chelsea (Tyler) as well as great-grandson Lucas and other relatives.

He was predeceased by his parents, Leona and Richard; daughters Dianna and Kelly as well as his siblings Shirley Oleski, June Huber, Ted and Bob Aiken.

Dave loved his kitchen and many were treated to his goodies. He enjoyed playing cards and relaxing in his recliner. His home and family were most important to Dave and he cherished his grandchildren.

Dave was a dedicated fan at his sons hockey and baseball games. Then came the grandchildren and the boys always had “gramps” at their hockey games. He was always near the glass proudly cheering them on and collected all of the newspaper clippings highlighting their successes.

Alex was his home buddy and they spent many hours together enjoying each others company. In most recent years, Dave was a hell on wheels as nothing could stop his daily jaunts on his scooter to many Westfort businesses.

Following our Father's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family interment will take place at a later date. A Celebration of Dave's Life will be held on Friday, May 1, 2015 at 1:00PM in the Westfort Prosvita on Gore Street. Should friends so desire, donations made in memory of Dave to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 332 North May Street.
