It is with heavy hearts the family of Rick (John Richard) Fraser announce his passing on January 5th 2025 at the age of 71 yrs with his loving wife by his side. Rick suffered years with heart failure.

Rick was born in Ottawa, Ont. To Rita Kavanagh and Barrie Fraser. Raised on the Old Family Farm in Richmond, Ont.

Rick and Louise moved to Thunder Bay in 1979 where his professional career in Water Well Drilling flourished around the surrounding area for years. Rick and Louise raised their family living mostly in Pass Lake, Crystal Beach and retired years in Current River area.

Rick is survived by his wife Louise and their 5 children Philip (Valerie); Kelly (Chuck); Benjamin; Cynthia and Richard (Katrina). His wonderful grandchildren Stephanie and Sam; Kyle; Christopher; Christa; Ashley; Emily; Teagan; Killian; Brayden & Isabella; Amber; Abbigail & Natasha and Hayden. Plus their 41/2 beautiful great granddaughters Skyla & Shea; Annabella & Scarlett with baby Fraser on the way.

Rick enjoyed all time within each season puttering outside or with any member of his family. He took great pride in helping in every way and stubborn enough to still show or teach us how to. He rather enjoyed telling stories; going out for coffee runs and many hours of playing cribbage, go fish, crazy 8’s or rummy as his top picks in cards. Rick was very generous and would do anything for those he loved. He was well known for his sense of humor and quick wit always bringing light to every moment. Overall, he will always be remembered for his happy remarkable contagious smile and twinkle to his eye. Rick leaves many lasting impressions to all those fortunate enough to have known him.

The family would like to thank the paramedics; emergency team at T.Bay Regional; Dr. Nigro and the heart team in London, Ont. Thank you for all your hard work, help in navigation with Pacemaker and teachings we received throughout the many years.

Cremation has already taken place through Simpler Times. Celebration of Rick’s Life will be held at West Thunder Community Centre on Sunday February 16th, 2025, from 1-4pm. Memorial donations can be made to Thunder Bay Heart Foundation at Regional Health science centre. The Fraser Family would be honored by your company as we celebrate the life who impacted us all. Together we can share his many stories.

We will carry your legacy, teachings, memories and strength with us forever. Until we meet again, we love you forever and always.
