The family of Mr. Rick Angus MacLeod, with very saddened hearts, announce his passing on Thursday, November 3, 2016 in Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre at the age of 58 years.

Rick was born in Thunder Bay on October 23, 1958. Growing up, he enjoyed sports including hockey, baseball and skiing. Rick's love of working with people brought him into his career, first as a Child and Youth Worker and then onto becoming a Developmental Service Worker, most recently with the Lakehead Public School Board. Rick truly loved his work and excelled in it.

He had a heart of gold and will be remembered for his talkative, loud and sarcastic nature as well as his sense of humour and his ability to make people laugh.

Rick will be deeply missed by his daughters Keltie Ford (Joe) and Kortnie MacLeod; mother Lois Gagnon; sister Wendy Otto (Allen) and brother Rory MacLeod. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives also survive.

He was predeceased by his father, Angus “Gus” MacLeod; brother Randy MacLeod; step-fathers Joe and Max as well his grandparents Agnes & George Breckman and Janet & Angus MacLeod.

A Visitation and Celebration of Rick's Life will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2016 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm in the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James. Should friends so desire, donations made in memory of Rick to the Northern Cancer Fund would be greatly appreciated.

"Those we love don't go away,
They walk beside us everyday,
Unseen, unheard but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear."
