It is with heartfelt sadness that the family announces the passing of Robert (Bob) Charles Kellaway, age 86, of Thunder Bay, ON. Bob was born on March 20th,1938 and passed away peacefully at home on September 26th, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
At an early age, once Bob finished his education he began running the family business, Lakehead Monument and continued to do so for the next 40 years. He retired at an early age and enjoyed his remaining years spending as much time as possible at his camp on Shebandowan Lake. He could always find something to fix or build, some grass to cut or some flowers to plant. He took great pride in his yard and it showed. Bob loved when people came to visit and having his family around spending time with him. Bob and Joan wintered for many years in Florida with special friends where many of his favorite memories were made.
Bob was predeceased by his wife Joan, parents Isabella and William Kellaway, and in-laws Alice and Odie Goodsell. He is survived by his 3 children Glen (Leah), Scott (Carolyn), Karen (Victor), 6 grandchildren Amanda, Eric, Dana, Courtney, Kristopher, Alysha; 5 great grandchildren Faryn, Jane, Rowan, Leo, Jude and his 2 sister -in-laws Diane Forslund and Odean Goodsell.
Family would like to thank Nurse Next Door home care service providers, Komal, Harit, Ravneet, Danish , Gurleen and Srikanth for your professionalism, kindness and the wonderful care you provided to Bob. We cannot thank you all enough and appreciate all you did.
To honor Bob’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers and if friends so desire, donations can be made to the Cardiac Cath Lab at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Science Centre, or a charity of your choice.
