It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Ronald David Coggin, 83, on February 4, 2025, in Thunder Bay, Ontario.

Ron was born on March 8, 1941, in Thunder Bay, Ontario. He graduated from King’s Business College with a diploma in Business Administration and dedicated his career to Thunder Bay Telephone where he worked for 30+ years. After retirement he enjoyed driving taxi for Diamond Taxi and always had the funniest stories to share. Ron also met the love of his life Lucy in Thunder Bay, where they build a happy life together for 58 years. Ron was an avid golfer, bowler, and a loving family man. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Ron also was a member of the Knights of Columbus where he built many lifelong friendships and enjoyed giving back to his community.

He is survived by his wife, Lucy Coggin; his brother, Brian; his children, Rob (Stephanie) and Andrew (Monica); and his grandchildren, Chloe, Lili, Noah and Lucas. He was predeceased by his parents, Eric and Mary Coggin.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Walford who helped care for Ron while his health was declining. We would also like to thank the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre for their compassionate care during Ron’s stays, as well as the staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital (floor 5 - South) and Southbridge Roseview Manor (floor 2 - Celeste House).

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on February 18th 2025, at St. Dominic’s Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Diabetes Society. Online condolences may be expressed at www.sargentandson.com
