It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow we announce the passing of our father and brother, Rosario “Rosie”. Son of Giovani and Christina Armenti, Rosario immigrated with his family to Canada from Campobasso, Italy when he was 2 years old. Their family settled in Ignace, Ontario before moving to Fort William in 1967.

As a child Rosario worked at his uncle’s store and was later employed by the CP Rail and then Labour’s Union, Local 607 where he worked as a powder man on the pipeline.

Rosario was known for his kind heart, playful spirit and his unique and infectious laughter. Rosario was his happiest spending time camping and fishing with his children, family and friends. He was most proud cheering on his kids during their various activities and sporting events. Rosario enjoyed many years of playing the drums in his family band playing gigs locally. He also enjoyed frequent trips to Ignace visiting friends and jamming with his good friend, John Ricci.

More passionately, Rosario loved to play snooker. His family was very proud when he qualified to play in the Ontario Snooker Championship.

Rosario is predeceased by his parents and grandparents. Rosario will be sadly missed by his 4 children, Chris (Kim), Angela Hulst (Brad), Michael, Catherine (Eric); their mother Janice; his 4 grandkids, Easton, Jamison, Sienna and Sophia; his 7 siblings, Vince (Sonja), Rosa Serino (Rory), Rick (Sheila), Tony, Mary Hlady (Dave), Anna Sabasta (Carlo) and Gina (Andy) as well as numerous nieces, nephews and relatives.

Funeral Mass for Mr. Rosario Armenti will be held on Friday, February 12, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Cathedral with Msgr. Pat Stilla, V.G. officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations will be greatly appreciated in support of the Heart & Stroke Foundation or charity of your choice.
