In loving memory of Roydon George Ballentine who passed away peacefully in his home on Friday April 18 2025 at 12:03 am.
He was surrounded by his loving family. Roy is survived by his son Gary Barrow (Bernadette) Cynthia Ostrom (Stephen) Sandra Commisso (Vince) Candice Bertie -Brandt (Larry) Jodi-Ann McLean (Gilles) Laureen Spilchuk (Bobby) Curtis Vezina (Kay). As well as 21 Grandchildren 32 Great Grandchildren and 6 Great Great Grandchildren. He also leaves behind many other family and friends.
Roy is predeceased by his wife and best friend Dorothy Jeanne Ballentine (Jean), his son Kurt Barrow, his Granddaughter Natasha Commisso and his son-law Robert Bertie.
Roy was born June 27 1935 in Kingston Jamaica. Dad worked as a millwright at Great Lakes Paper Mill from 1976 until he retired in 1996.
In Dads younger days growing up in Jamaica he loved to play Table Tennis and he represented Jamaica in many competitions. He was the top of his class in school. Dad loved fishing camping and cooking. As well as maintaining the boats at Savanne River Resort. Which was Mom and Dads happy place. He was also an avid Dart player. He had a great mind and loved to share his knowledge with family and friends.
The family would like to thank Dr. Boake and Dr. Mary Macdonald for the wonderful care and keeping him here as long as he did. Also to the exceptional nurses and staff in the Renal Unit. He hated going but loved his talks with them.
As well as the workers from Palliative home care team for there devotion to there job.
Also a big Thank you to Don from Care Parenters fir his care and love he bestowed on Dad every day.
In lieu of Flowers donations can be made on his behave for the Renal and Vascular Units.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 575 Central Avenue, Thunder Bay.
